Syrian army retakes town of Qusair from rebels

The Syrian army is warning rebel forces to "surrender or face death" after recapturing the strategically important town of Qusair.

30,000 people lived in the town.

Now the streets are deserted after three weeks of intense fighting as government forces, with the help of Hezbollah fighters from Lebanon, tried and finally succeeded to drive the rebels out.

It is a major defeat for the Free Syrian Army.

The BBC's Lyse Doucet and cameraman Phil Goodwin are the first western journalists to reach the town and sent this report.
