Syria crisis raises tension in wider region
An Israeli military source has confirmed to the BBC that Syrian government forces have taken control of the Quneitra border crossing in the Golan Heights after it was briefly held by rebels earlier.
The Syrian military used tanks and armoured personnel carriers in its operation which was technically in violation of the ceasefire agreement with Israel although no action is expected to be taken.
After fierce fighting in the area earlier, farmers on the Israeli-controlled side of the ceasefire line are being allowed to return to work.
Two Syrians were evicted to an Israeli hospital for treatment.
