Egypt crisis: US envy Burns to hold talks with military
A senior United States envoy has arrived in Egypt for talks with the military government.
Deputy Secretary of State William Burns is expected to warn that the legitimacy of an unelected government could be questioned. The military removed President Mohammed Morsi from power after protests by millions of Egyptians.
Both pro- and anti-Morsi protesters have held major demonstrations in the past two weeks, during which dozens of people have died.
Egypt's public prosecutor has frozen the assets of a number of Muslim Brotherhood leaders as part of an investigation into the incitement of violence at protests.
