Egypt unrest: 'We will die for our country'

Egypt's interior minister has warned supporters of ousted president Mohammed Morsi that they will "soon" be dispersed from a sit-in in Cairo.

His comments came after bloody clashes between security forces and protesters in the early hours of Saturday, with doctors estimating that more than 100 people were killed.

The health ministry put the death toll lower, at 65 but the Muslim Brotherhood, which supports Mr Morsi, told the BBC that 134 people had died.

However, thousands of protesters insist they will stay at Rabaa al-Adawia mosque.

Speaking to the BBC, Gehad el-Haddad, a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood, said: "We will not stop protesting. This is our country in danger. We'd rather die for our country that live under the tyranny of military rule."
