'A most serious moment in the conflict' - Ban Ki-moon
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has said the conflict in Syria has reached a "most serious moment" but urged to "give peace a chance".
He made his comments during an address at the official commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Peace Palace in the Hague.
Meanwhile the UK is to put a resolution to the UN Security Council later on Wednesday "authorising necessary measures to protect civilians" in Syria.
