US and Egypt 'vital partners', says Kerry
US Secretary of State John Kerry has called for an end to all violence in Egypt and urged moves to full democracy on his first visit to the country since President Mohammed Morsi was ousted.
Speaking at a news conference, Mr Kerry said the US was committed to working with the interim leaders, but wanted Egypt to continue on a road towards democracy.
The BBC's Kim Ghattas, who is travelling with Mr Kerry, reports from Cairo.
