International 'chemical weapons ships' in new bid to collect arms

Danish and Norwegian ships tasked with removing Syria's stockpile of chemical weapons are due to depart from Cyprus on Friday.

The frigates and cargo vessels returned to the European port to refuel, after the weapons failed to arrive at the collection point in the Syrian city of Latakia on time to meet the removal deadline at the end of 2013.

They will be accompanied by Chinese warships, to provide extra security.
