Reporting for Bashar

BBC Arabic gained unprecedented access to al-Ikhbariyya TV station in Damascus to see how it covers news of the conflict from a Syrian government perspective.

Reporter Nur Zorgui spoke to staff at the station, which is seen by many as a mouthpiece of the Syrian government and armed forces. We meet the editor who shows us how the channel's headquarters was bombed and partly destroyed, and we follow two female reporters, one on assignment with Syrian Army troops, another as she goes home to her family and explains how dangerous her job really is. The editor shows us how the channel's headquarters was bombed and partly destroyed.

This film takes us to the heart of Syria's media war and reveals the conflict as it has never been seen before.
