Afghan election: Results delayed as fraud allegations continue

More than two weeks after Afghanistan held a landmark run-off to elect a successor to Hamid Karzai, electoral authorities have said they want to delay any announcement by a week because of allegations of voter fraud.

Officials said thousands of polling stations were now holding recounts where irregularities had been reported.

Two former ministers - Ashraf Ghani and his rival Abdullah Abdullah - are battling it out for the top job.
