US launches new air strikes on Islamic State in Iraq
The United States has launched two additional air strikes on Islamist militants in Iraq, who are targeting Kurdish forces defending the northern city of Irbil.
US drones and Navy fighter jets attacked targets near the city of Irbil - a similar location to the first strike earlier on Friday.
The action followed an operation to drop aid to thousands of Christians and other minorities who have been fleeing the advance of the Islamic State (IS) fighters.
