Mubarak insists his innocence over protestor deaths

Egypt's former president, Hosni Mubarak, has told a court in Cairo that he is innocent in relation to the deaths of around 850 protestors in the June 2012 uprising.

In his first televised statement, the 86-year old insisted that he "had never, ever ordered the killing of one single Egyptian citizen".

The court will deliver its verdict in the trial on September 27.
