Iraq crisis: BBC meets refugees in Dohuk

The United Nations is mounting a major aid operation to try and help more than half a million people who have fled for their lives from extremist Islamic State (IS) fighters in northern Iraq.

Aid will be delivered by air, road and sea, starting on Wednesday.

Many of the refugees have arrived at a huge refugee camp near Dohuk and are in desperate need of help.

Yalda Hakim met with people who have fled to the refugee camp.
