Kobane: 'Street after street in ruins'

The US military says warplanes from an international coalition have hit dozens of Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria.

Most of the strikes in Syria were aimed at militants in the town on Kobane, near the Turkish border, which has been the scene of an intense battle between Kurds and IS fighters for over two months.

Civilians inside the town are struggling to cope with ever-worsening conditions, as Alan Johnston reports.
