Heavy fighting in Sinai between Egyptian forces and jihadists

Dozens have been killed in heavy fighting between Egyptian security forces and jihadists linked to Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula.

The clashes carried on for several hours, with the Egyptian forces using fighter jets and attack helicopters.
