Al-Jazeera journalists sentenced to three years in prison in Egypt

Three journalists from Al-Jazeera's English language television channel have been sentenced to three years in prison following a retrial.

The men have always denied charges of broadcasting false news and colluding with the Muslim Brotherhood, who have now been outlawed.

Canadian-Egyptian Mohamed Fahmy and Egyptian Baher Mohamed were in court to hear the verdict.

The third man, Peter Greste, was deported in February and was on trial again in absentia.

Lyse Doucet says there was "shock" in the courtroom as the verdict and sentences were announced.
