'I am free' - Germany releases al-Jazeera reporter Ahmed Mansour

One of al-Jazeera's journalists, Ahmed Mansour, has been released from detention in Germany.

He was taken into custody at Berlin airport on Saturday after an extradition request from Egypt.

Cairo has accused him of torturing a lawyer during the protests in 2011 that brought down Hosni Mubarak - an accusation al-Jazeera says is absurd and false.

Mr Mansour was met by a crowd of supporters as he emerged from Berlin's Moabit prison, and expressed his thanks for his freedom.
