Syria civil war: Activist tells of Madaya family forced to eat cats

A Syrian opposition activist has been describing day-to-day life for those living in the besieged rebel-held village of Madaya.

He says he has family members there who are so desperate for food that they are forced to search for cats, dogs and grass to eat.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, says he no longer recognises them from the photos he has seen of them.
