Palmyra: Mines cleared from ancient Syrian city by Russians

Russian mine disposal teams have begun clearing mines from the Syrian city of Palmyra following its recapture from the so-called Islamic State group (IS).

IS seized the Unesco World Heritage site and adjoining modern town in May and destroyed archaeological features, drawing global outrage.
