'Biggest ever' strikes hit northern Gaza

Israel's bombardment of Gaza has intensified, and the territory's health ministry, which is run by Hamas, says hundreds of Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours

The BBC's Rushdi Abualouf, who is in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, says he understands that tanks travelled at least two kilometres deep, close to the sea in north-west Gaza.

He adds that people in northern Gaza are experiencing the biggest ever strikes to have hit the territory.
