Red Cross: relief 'not in sufficient quanitites'

Aid agencies in Pakistan have warned that unless there is more international help, many more people will die as floods now inundate southern areas.

The United Nations is to launch a fresh appeal on Wednesday to help 14 million people affected by the deluge.

It says that so far about 1,600 people have been killed.

Speaking to the BBC's Lyse Doucet, Patrick Fuller of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said the number of people affected by the disaster was "spinning out of control".
