UN sanctions committee 'Give Taliban a voice'
A UN committee, backed by Britain and the US, is preparing to lift international sanctions against a number of former Taliban figures in Afghanistan.
It is part of the effort to promote "reconciliation", or peace talks, with those still in the Taliban insurgency.
Speaking to the BBC's Paul Wood in Kabul, the man in charge of the sanctions committee, Richard Barratt, said the Taliban should have a voice in the way that Afghanistan is run.
