Arizona immigration law: Residents' reaction

A federal judge in Arizona has blocked various parts of the state's immigration laws days before they were to come into effect.

The US government had said the legislation hijacked its authority over the issue, while critics said the law unfairly targeted Hispanics.

People in Arizona, which already has the toughest state laws on immigration in the US, have given the block a mixed reception.

Some think the state's economy will continue to suffer unless the law is tightened, while others agree the issue needs addressing but disagree about how it should be done.
