BP pushes on with Gulf of Mexico relief well

BP has said it is going ahead with plans to make sure its blown-out oil well in the Gulf of Mexico is permanently sealed, by pumping cement in through a second relief well.

But the government's incident commander, Adm Thad Allen, said drilling would not proceed until they were sure it was safe to do so.

Meanwhile, President Obama is visiting Florida with his family in an effort to show solidarity with those areas affected by the oil spill.
