Rebirth of ground zero eclipsed by controversy

The United States is preparing to mark nine years since 9/11 with construction for memorials at the site of the Twin Towers. The continuing row over a small church's threat to burn copies of the Koran over plans for an Islamic centre nearby, could, however, overshadow the anniversary.

President Obama has made a plea for religious tolerance, as protests continue in the Muslim world. The pastor who made the threat is demanding a meeting with the Imam behind a proposed Islamic centre.
