Dominique Strauss-Kahn granted bail

Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been granted bail at a court in New York.

He will be placed under 24hr house arrest and must have one armed guard present at all times.

Mr Strauss-Kahn resigned from the IMF following allegations he sexually assaulted a hotel maid in New York.

He again firmly denied the criminal charges against him.

Speculation has began over who will become the new chief of the IMF.
