US bargain seekers out for Black Friday

US shoppers have been out in force for the traditional start to the festive shopping season, Black Friday.

But many said they were cutting back and looking to make the most of the discounted deals on offer, in what are tough economic times around the globe.

There were also a number of violent incident that marred this year's retail bonanza, including several shootings and two pepper-sprayings.
