Start-up companies take on the corporate CES 2012 event
Roughly 100 small start-up companies plan to show off their products at the CES 2012 technology expo in Las Vegas, Nevada this year.
Several start-ups came together to generate a buzz at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino prior to CES, which kicks off on Tuesday and typically sees unveilings from the world's largest technology corporations.
But other start-up companies have chosen simply to attend CES this year as guests, while throwing private parties at venue spaces around the city - claiming that it still seems impossible for small companies to break through the noise of the corporate event.
The BBC's Matt Danzico investigates how start-ups are using CES as a marketing vehicle, whether that be from within the event or via the perimeter.
