Sharpton: We want to see Zimmerman charged and in court
Civil rights leader Reverend Al Sharpton has told a crowd at Fort Mellon Park in Sanford, Florida, that he wants to see George Zimmerman in court, charged with the murder of a black teen who was fatally shot by the self-appointed town watch patrolman more than three and-a-half weeks ago.
Thousands of Sanford residents and protesters from around the country attended a rally following the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Mr Zimmerman has claimed he acted in self-defence and has not been arrested.
