Michelle Obama: 'I'm not watching Republican convention'

US First Lady Michelle Obama tells US late-night host David Letterman that she has not been watching the Republican National Convention.

But she said it was important for voters to see as much as they could of both the Republican and Democratic conventions.

"Let me start by saying I, as the wife of the guy they're running against, I tend not to watch it," she said. "But I think it's important for everyone to watch these conventions because this is the time you get to know the party, you understand the platform, you understand the candidates."
