US 'open to dialogue' on North Korea

The US is "open to dialogue" over North Korea, on the grounds that the regime gives up its nuclear ambitions.

Acting Ambassador to the UK, Barbara Stephenson, said China had an important part to play in the international effort to calm tensions in the region.

She told the BBC the US was keen to see that "this very provocative rhetoric be ratcheted down."
