'High-level' discussions over Snowden extradition

President Obama has said that there have been "high-level" discussions between the US and Russia about the extradition of Edward Snowden.

Speaking in Tanzania, Mr Obama said that although there was no extradition treaty in place between the two countries, he hoped that Russia would follow normal law-enforcement channels.

He said that the fugitive ex-CIA analyst had arrived in Russia without a valid passport.
