Asiana crash survivor says pilot tried to 'lift plane back up'

A passenger from the Asiana Airlines flight which crashed at San Francisco International Airport said the pilot attempted to power the aircraft's engines and "lift the plane back up" before it hit the ground.

Eugene Rah survived the accident on Saturday, which killed two passengers, but admitted that at one stage he thought he was going to die.

Mr Rah said he believed the captain tried to send more power to the engine to keep it airborne and out of danger.

He added: " I was holding things so tight, and bam. The impact was so powerful."
