Syria attack: US 'focused on nailing down facts'

The United Nations has formally requested the Syrian government to allow a UN team of weapons inspectors into Syria to investigate Wednesday's alleged chemical attack in Damascus.

Opposition activists say hundreds of people died as a result of the attack, with videos posted online showing dozens of victims, including children.

US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki, said the US government was ''focused on nailing down the facts.''

''The president, of course, has a range of options,'' she added.
