Progress in Iran nuclear talks in Geneva, says John Kerry

US Secretary of State John Kerry has said that differences between Iran and international powers have narrowed, and significant progress has been made towards ensuring that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons.

Talks on Tehran's nuclear programme ended in Geneva without agreement, but Mr Kerry said he was confident an agreement could be reached in the coming weeks.

EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, who co-ordinated the discussions, said they would resume on 20 November.
