Frantic 911 calls as mudslide hits US state

Audio recordings of emergency phone calls made in the moments after a deadly mudslide struck the Washington state town of Oso have been made public.

They range from a desperate woman who said people were screaming for help, to a caller describing ''hundreds of trees'' falling outside the family home.

The number of people still missing in the aftermath of the mudslide has dropped to 90.

The official death toll remained at 24 on Wednesday night, including eight bodies authorities say they have located but been unable to retrieve.
