Thousands of children migrate illegally to United States

In the last eight months alone, nearly 60,000 children have crossed the border illegally into the United States.

They come to escape poverty, violence and economic hardship but the crossing is dangerous and often ends in a detention centre.

On Friday, President Obama will meet with Central American leaders to find a way to stem the flow of illegal child migrants.
