Islamic State: John Kerry says group 'significantly' damaged

Air strikes carried out by the US-led coalition on Islamic State (IS) have inflicted "significant" damage on the group's capabilities, US Secretary of State John Kerry has said.

Mr Kerry was speaking in Brussels after a meeting of foreign ministers and officials from all the nations involved in the coalition.

Islamic State "is still perpetrating terrible crimes but there was a consensus that the momentum which it had exhibited two-and-a-half months ago has been halted," he said.
