NY shooter 'referenced Garner and Brown cases' - Police
A man who fatally shot two New York police officers on Friday had "no history of radicalisation" but had expressed anger towards the police online, authorities have confirmed.
The city's Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told a news conference that an examination of Ismaaiyl Brinsley's social media accounts had revealed references to the shootings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner - cases which triggered nationwide protests.
Details of Brinsley's difficult childhood and strained family relationships were also described.
Officers Liu Wenjin and Raphael Ramos were killed while on patrol in Brooklyn.
