US Centcom Twitter account hacked by pro-IS group

A group claiming to back Islamic State has hacked the Twitter and YouTube accounts of US Central Command, the nerve centre of the US military.

The sites briefly carried threats to American soldiers and some postings appeared to list names, phone numbers, addresses and some material classed for official use only.

Centcom said it was taking "appropriate measures". The Twitter account was later taken down so no tweets could be viewed.
