Freddie Gray: US public 'back Baltimore police charges'

New data from the Pew Research Center, external illustrates how Americans from across the United States feel about the recent unrest in Baltimore.

Protests were sparked by the death of a black man, Freddie Gray, while in police custody. After they turned violent, National Guard troops were deployed to enforce a week-long curfew.

Six police officers are facing criminal charges over the death, which has been ruled a homicide. They deny wrongdoing.

The Pew Research data found that a majority of both black and white Americans approve of the charges brought against the officers in the case.
