Gen Clark: US troops in Iraq an 'opportunity' for IS

US President Barack Obama has ordered the deployment of up to 450 more US troops to Iraq's Anbar province to advise and assist local forces in the fight against Islamic State.

The decision comes amidst mounting pressure to stop the momentum of IS militants and at the request of the Iraqi Prime Minister.

General Wesley Clark, who formerly served as Supreme Allied Commander at Nato, tells the BBC's Katty Kay that putting American combat troops on the ground in Iraq would be a "huge recruiting opportunity" for Islamic State.
