Kobe Bryant’s death a loss for WNBA too - Monique Currie
Former WNBA player Monique Currie praised Kobe Bryant for his work in the women’s game.
Speaking to the BBC’s Beyond 100 Days programme, she said his death - and that of his daughter Gianna, also a keen player - was a huge loss.
Currie also said that it was important not to ignore controversial parts of Bryant’s life, noting that he had admitted “he wasn’t perfect”.
Bryant was accused of sexual assault in 2003 by a 19-year-old woman working at a Colorado resort. He denied the allegation, saying the two had consensual sex and the case was later dropped. He later issued an apology to his accuser.
