Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick lies in honour at US Capitol
He died from injuries sustained while on duty during the Capitol riots on 6 January. Trump supporters stormed the building, overwhelming law enforcement. US media reported that Mr Sicknick was struck in the head by a fire extinguisher. He served 12 years with the Capitol Police.
Update 23 February 2021: This article originally included a line reporting that Officer Sicknick had been hit on the head with a fire extinguisher, based on reports in the US media. New information has since emerged which calls this into question and so we have amended our article to make clear that is what US media previously reported.
