Large ice balls wash ashore at Lake Erie
A rare 'ice ball' phenomenon appeared on Lake Erie in Ontario, Canada. The balls of ice are also referred to as 'ice eggs' and form when water breaks off ice and then is smoothed out by the water until it becomes round in shape.
