Rihanna has scored the sixth UK number one of her career with We Found Love.

The song, which features Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, sold 87,000 copies and saw off its rivals, despite only being released on Wednesday.

The singer has now secured six chart-toppers in the past five years, a first for a female artist, the Official UK Charts Company says.

In the album chart, James Morrison held onto the top spot despite a fervent challenge from You Me At Six.

The Surrey rock band made their debut at number three with Sinners Never Sleep, their third album and best showing to date.

US country act Lady Antebellum captured a new entry at number four, while Devon singer-songwriter Ben Howard made a dent inside the top 10 at seven.

In the singles rundown, the only other new entry in the top 10 - apart from Rihanna - was electro hip-hop duo LMFAO's Sexy And I Know It.

The song, which climbed up to number seven, made its original dent on the chart some three months ago.

Rihanna, whose other UK chart toppers include Umbrella (2007) and last year's Only Girl In The World, recently caused a storm in Northern Ireland after being asked by a farmer to cover up while filming a video clip in his field.

Alan Graham said he did not "believe young ladies should have to take their clothes off to entertain".
