    Introducing the leadership candidates, Victoria Derbyshire says Jeremy Corbyn "defied the odds" to win the Labour leadership contest in 2015.

    He faces Owen Smith, only elected to Parliament in 2010.

    "Even he admits he's not a household name in his own household" she jokes.

  4. Leadership challenge

    Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader by Labour members only last year but faces a leadership challenge from MP Owen Smith.

    It follows the resignation of many in his shadow cabinet after the EU referendum, including Mr Smith who previously served as shadow work and pensions secretary.

    Mr Smith said recently he will return to the backbenches rather than serve in Jeremy Corbyn's shadow cabinet, should he lose the Labour leadership contest.
