That was Sports Direct's policy for dealing with misdemeanours under which staff were given "a strike" for spending too long in the toilet, excessive chatting or taking a day off sick.
Once an employee had six strikes they were automatically dismissed.

Meanwhile away from Sports Direct, Asian stocks have ended lower after weak US economic data led to diminished bets that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates at their meeting this month.
The US ISM non-manufacturing index came in well below expectations and at the lowest level since February 2010.
Mizuho Bank said the data will spur the Fed to remain cautious and a September rate hike is now "off the table".
The probability of a September hike is now 24% compared to 32% last Friday, according to Fed futures.
Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.4% to close at 17,012.44 while the broader Topix index lost 0.23% to 1,349.53. South Korea's Kospi fell 0.2% to 2,061.88.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.2% to 23,741.81 while the Shanghai Composite ended pretty much flat at 3,091.93.
