    The A30 in Cornwall is shut between the A39 at Carland Cross and the A390 at Chiverton Cross due to a crash, National Highways says.

    It says on X, external police are in attendance and contractors are clearing debris.

    Here is a round-up of what has been happening in the South West this morning:

    • The Met Office has issued a second yellow weather warning for rain affecting Devon and Cornwall until 10:00 GMT on Tuesday

    • More than 60mm of rainfall recorded on parts of Dartmoor in 24 hours
    • Devon County Council is reminding people to be mindful while travelling, with trees down and flooding on many roads

    Here are the strongest wind gusts recorded in the South West since 00:00 GMT, with St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly topping the chart with a gust of 73mph (117km/h).

    There are still more than 1,000 properties without power in the South West, according to National Grid.

    It says there are 560 properties affected by power cuts in Cornwall, and 503 in Devon.

    According to the Environment Agency, these were the five highest rainfall totals between 06:00 on Sunday and 06:00 on Monday in the South West:

    • East Okement, near Okehampton on Dartmoor, Devon - 60.4mm
    • Prewley, Devon - 59.9mm
    • White Barrow, Devon - 52.9mm
    • Goren, Devon - 52.6mm
    • Brookfield Farm, Devon - 47.5mm

    Devon County Council is reminding motorists to be mindful of their surroundings on footpaths and bridleways.

    Jen Murphy, from the highways control room, says: "Lots of the reports that we've had over the weekend have been on bridleways and other public rights of way and footpaths.

    "It's not just a case of driving to the conditions, but also just be mindful of where you're travelling."

    There are 615 properties affected by power cuts in Cornwall, and 566 in Devon.

    According to the Met Office, temperatures in the city are 8C but they feel like 4C.

    The Met Office has issued a second yellow weather warning for rain affecting Devon and Cornwall until 10:00 GMT on Tuesday.

    The forecaster says people should expect expect heavy, blustery showers and possible thunderstorms, leading to some flooding which is likely to affect the roads.

    It warns flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible, and spray and flooding on roads could make journey times longer, with possible power cuts and disruption to buses and trains.

    Devon County Council Highways is asking drivers to take extra care on the roads as the clean up continues.

    Andy Cole, from the council, says: "We're still expecting it to be very busy, the rain is probably going to continue so we’ve got to ask drivers to take extra care.

    "Allow extra time for that journey and just be careful, don't travel through flood water because you really don’t know what’s underneath that water and how deep it is."

    The highest wind gust recorded overnight and up until 07:00 GMT was in St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly, reaching 73mph (117km/h).

    Elsewhere in the South West, gusts hit 62mph (99km/h) in Plymouth and 61mph (98km/h) at RNAS Culdrose in Helston.

    A tree is blocking the Cornish village of Trenarran, blocking the road in and out, according to a resident.

    Mike told BBC Radio Cornwall the village had no internet or phone signal but still has power.

    About 1,175 homes and businesses are currently without power across Devon and Cornwall.

    There are 768 in Cornwall, and 367 in Devon.

    National Grid says engineers are working to reconnect supplies as soon as possible.

    A small fire broke out in a house in Cornwall following a lightning strike, according to firefighters.

    Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said crews from St Columb and St Dennis attended the fire in Whitecross at about 06:30 GMT.

    A spokesperson said the fire was extinguished using a CO2 extinguisher.
