  3. 'Not over yet', our forecaster sayspublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

There are still "big flakes" of snow falling in north Somerset, where our senior weather presenter Ian Fergusson has sent us this report.

"The transition away from snow to sleet and ultimately rain is very, very variable," he said.

"What's happening is where we get these heavier rates of precipitation, it's dragging the freezing level back down again so we're getting these periods where the snow is starting to re-assert itself.

"It's not over yet and it is quite big flakes coming down here."

  4. Stuck in the disruption at Bristol Airportpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

More on Bristol Airport from a passenger stuck in the disruption now.

Andrew Baxter is trying fly to Edinburgh, where he then faces a three-hour drive home to Kinlochleven in the Scottish Highlands.

Andrew tells us: "It's quiet and calm at the airport, but waiting passengers suspected there would be significant delays once it started snowing outside and departure boards said wait for information."

A little while later announcements came through saying the runway had been close due to the snow, to allow work crews time to clear it.

"Then we've just been told that flights to Belfast, Barcelona and Paris are all cancelled.

"No one seems angry, just resigned to the fact."
