There's flurries in Bradley Stoke near Bristol, one of our reporters tells us it has been snowing in near Longleat in Wiltshire for the past hour, we are seeing snow down the M5 corridor through Somerset too.

On Facebook there are a mixture of reports, external from Taunton where it appears to be a mix of rain and snow, on the Quantocks it has settled and in Frome it is currently "wet snow".

  8. Where is snow expected to fall?published at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

Where snow is expected to fall exactly is unclear, as our senior weather presenter Ian Fergusson explains.

Snow is falling in parts of Somerset already, but we aren't seeing reports of snow falling any further north yet.

The Met Office issued an amber alert for snow and ice yesterday, this is where it covers in our patch.
